Why Refer to Cortex Migraine

We focus exclusively on chronic migraine — from in-clinic Botox® to the predictive lidocaine test and TEMMA® embolization. Every patient is evaluated carefully before anything is scheduled, and you stay in the loop at every step.

Test-First Candidacy
Every interventional patient starts with a predictive lidocaine test. No one moves to TEMMA® without evidence the treatment is likely to help — candidacy is never a guess.
A Complete Migraine Pathway
Botox®, the lidocaine test, and TEMMA® embolization are all offered within one practice. If one step isn’t enough, your patient moves to the next without starting over.
Communication Back to You
You receive the consultation note, test results, and procedure report. Your patient remains your patient — we coordinate with you and your care plan at every step.
We Perform Procedures, Not Medical Management
Cortex Migraine is an interventional practice — the lidocaine test, TEMMA® embolization, and in-clinic Botox®. We don’t manage daily preventive medications, and we don’t become the patient’s neurologist. Ongoing medical management stays with you; we send our notes and outcomes back to your office.
Structured 12-Month Follow-Up
We track the procedure outcome with standardized pain and migraine-impact scores over 12 months of follow-up, and we share that progress with your office. Medication decisions remain yours.
Multiple Access Points
Migraine clinics across the West — Tacoma, Olympia, and Los Angeles open now, with the Bay Area, Las Vegas, Phoenix, and Denver coming soon. Refer your patient to whichever is closest.
Insurance & Authorization
Our team handles benefit verification and prior-authorization documentation for your patient, reducing administrative burden on your office.

Who We Treat

We evaluate patients with chronic, hard-to-treat migraine — people who have not found adequate relief from standard medical therapy. The best fits for referral are patients who:

8+ headache days per month
High-frequency or chronic migraine that significantly limits daily activities.
Failed preventive trials
Inadequate relief despite preventive medications — CGRP inhibitors, Botox®, beta-blockers, or other orals.
Medication side effects
Unacceptable side effects or intolerances that have narrowed your patient’s preventive options.
Migraines disrupting life
Missed work, school, or family time because of migraine days.
Seeking a drug-free option
Patients who want a one-time procedure instead of ongoing injections or daily medication.
Diagnostic uncertainty
If you’re not sure whether your patient fits, refer anyway — the consultation and imaging review will clarify.

For the ER

Your CT-negative migraine patients need somewhere to go. We're a pressure-relief valve — send them to us, and they stop cycling back through your department.

Fast-track evaluation
ER referrals skip the routine queue — we typically evaluate within 48–72 hours of referral.
The patient returns to your care
We perform the procedure and send the records back to you. We don't manage daily preventive medications — your patient returns to you for ongoing migraine medical management.

Published series report significant improvement in selected patients — and evaluation determines candidacy. Nothing permanent happens unless the lidocaine test predicts benefit.

Our team is also happy to present TEMMA® and the published outcomes at your department meetings — just ask when you call.
