ABOUT US

A Practice Built Around Migraine

Cortex Migraine exists for one reason: expert interventional migraine care. One procedure, one protocol, one standard — at every clinic across the West.

Our Story

One focus. Expanding across the West.

Cortex Migraine was founded around interventional migraine care — not migraine as one condition on a long list. Every physician, every protocol, and every piece of our infrastructure exists to solve severe migraine.

TEMMA® — Targeted Embolization for Migraine Management — is a standardized, minimally invasive interventional procedure for chronic migraine. Today the same care is available at our clinics in Tacoma, Olympia, and Los Angeles — with additional locations coming soon across the West. Wherever you see us, the focus is the same: expert interventional migraine treatment at scale.

Volume drives quality. Interventional care improves with repetition — more procedures means refined technique, sharper judgment about who benefits, and the same team carrying every lesson forward. When your entire practice is built around one condition, you get remarkably good at it.

Access — not barriers. Specialty care this focused should still be easy to reach. Insurance verification and authorization are handled by our team — part of the care, not your problem — and we keep your schedule to the appointments that matter. Getting to expert care shouldn't be one more obstacle.

Why Cortex Migraine

One focus, one protocol, one team

Migraines are one item on the menu at most practices — not the mission. We earn your trust the same way every time: test first, then treat. That's not a slogan — it's a protocol that protects every patient who walks through our doors. Every provider performing TEMMA® is TEMMA®-certified — trained in the standardized protocol and tracked in our outcomes registry.

Predictive test before treatment
We don't guess. The lidocaine test tells us — and you — whether this pathway is driving your migraines. If it's negative, we stop. No permanent changes. No risk taken.
Consistency, not guesswork
Every site. Same screening. Same technique. Same follow-up. Your experience doesn't depend on which doctor you see or which location you visit.
Deep specialization, not dabbling
Most practices treat migraines as one of dozens of conditions. We treat it as the only condition. That depth — every physician, every protocol, every follow-up — is the entire practice.
Collaborative, not isolated
Our physicians work across a shared network, not in silos. Complex cases get reviewed by multiple specialists — bringing more experience to bear on every decision.
The Pathway Philosophy

Medications, then Botox®, then the test, then TEMMA®

Most patients arrive having tried medications for years. Whatever rung you enter on, the next step is already in the same building — no new referrals, no new records, no starting over.

1

Preventive Medications

Most people with severe migraine start here — daily preventives, CGRPs, and rescue medications, usually managed by your existing provider.

2

Botox® for Chronic Migraine

When medications aren't enough, Botox® is the established interventional preventive — offered in our clinics by our migraine providers.

3

The Lidocaine Test

Still struggling? The predictive test tells us — in one visit — whether your migraines respond in the pathway TEMMA® treats.

4

TEMMA®

If the test is positive, a drug-free embolization procedure addresses the source — with same-day discharge and structured follow-up.
